Turning

Turning and turning will be our delight
Till by turning and turning, we come round right
- from the Shaker song "'Tis a gift to be simple"

Also works for Sufi spinners

Wow! I wonder how all the limbs came to be so evenly spaced. Good eye!

I like this tree. It reminds me the directions road signs of some towns in your country.

Reminds me of a song by XTC, "The Wheel and the Maypole"

Maypole, maypole, maypole
You've spun me round
And knocked me off my axis mundi
Maypole, maypole, maypole
The ties that bind you will unwind
To free me one day

I thought of the Strawb's song, 'Round And Round':

I drew the blade across my wrist
To see how it would feel
Looked into the future
There was nothing to reveal
For we were just the product
Of the ever spinning wheel
Round and round we go
Round and and round we go

I often wonder if trees aren’t the actual highest form of life on the planet . . .

This picture might be nice in black and white, too!
(No spinning for me, please, I suffered from vertigo for years, glad to be without!)

There are artists who have spent a life time just painting trees. I love them.

Wow, thanks for all the song memories...I guess a tree is a good core to hang things on, and not just Christmas ornaments.

Eva, context and association is everything.

Works for me too...until...ahem...I fall over. I guess there's plenty of songs about that as well, tavern songs.

Okay...you certainly caught my attention with the tree photo. I'm so into sketching trees...this is a prime example of what I love most about them...their complexity of design.

Great choice you made.

I looked also at your art works...these are all your own creations? Impressive.

Haven't looked at your Odyssey yet, but definitely that's on my list of views...should be interesting.

Adam has it right...the maypole!
