Feeling slightly stunned at being a blog of note...hello to new people here. Sometimes I guess it pays to be cranky. It came at a good time, as I have been feeling a bit at sea. Reality on the ground, as opposed to the ether/blogosphere, is rather discouraging of late (not only for artists, I know). So it's lovely to have the opportunity to connect. Recently watched for an odd sort of comfort: the precursor to Twilight Zone, One Step Beyond, with host John Neuland, whose presentation is a perfect combination of geniality and dignity. The unexplained forces at work in this half hour drama, said to be based on real events, affect people on an individual level, as opposed to being vast geopolitical or economic bogeymen. And Neuland is incredibly soothing. The above is a little sculpture I made of a headless frosty the snowman figure, a replacement ceramic head I made, a saucer, a sugar pot lid, thinset mortar and buttons. It will eventually be on my etsy site when I pull myself together.
Edit: correction by Peevish (see comments): "One Step Beyond ran 20 Jan 1959 until Jul 1961: Twilight Zone pilot episode was aired in 1958 and the series ran 2 Oct 59 until June 64".
I still think it would be a lot easier to hang out with John Neuland (urbane, that was the descriptive adjective I was trying to think of) than Rod Serling.

nice snowman !!! :)
hi there. found your blog is interesting. the art is really there. :)
Congratulations! Your site makes me smile. One Step Beyond ran 20 Jan 1959 until 4 Jul 1961; Twilight Zone pilot episode was aired in 1958 and the series ran 2 Oct 59 until 19 June 64. My parents did not allow me to watch either program but I enjoyed listening to fans of each argue their relative merits on the way to school.
Heartily deserved to be the blog of note (always something to interest and inspire here!). Don't feel down in the dumps (January does that to me too, even though it's my birthday month.... the xmas downer and an uncertain year ahead... ...). Very impressed to see a post on dec 25th (pardon my slow uptake, is Old Frumenty of your own making...? want to hear about him / it!).
Wow! amazing arts!...Keep it up!
I can't fing the button to subscribe! I am new on Blogger and was searching blogs and found yours under the notes of (honor?) I enjoy reading you work and enjoy the artwork. I have recently made a blog called Inside Me. I saw you like poetry. I have only two postings on that one so far, but check them out if you want. I also have a blog labelled Thoughts... Hello I really like your blog, I would like a link exchange with you, I insert your blog to my favorite blogs ;)
Thanks for the comments, I am glad (most) people like my work.
About links: I don't really trade links, I follow blogs for awhile and decide if it makes sense to link. Sometimes I even link to blogs that don't have links going out - it's more about what I like.
Another art blog! yes more art is what this world needs.
Congrats on Blog Of Note
You inspire me!

Thanks, a comment like that makes my day. It's good to feel I'm contributing.
I’m not particularly surprised at yours being a blog of note. Your blog is IS a blog of note. An original, honest (and sometimes a little bit cranky) place where one feels instantly at home and somewhat safe from the raging storm of stupidity that seems to surrounds us. It’s not just about art, although your illustrations are excellent. I think it’s about being real in a medium, blogging, where it is almost expected to put up a shiny, polished, false front. It’s about magic sticks, given out freely to unknown people to surprise yet other strangers.
As I’ve said before, I am very appreciative of your comments at Son of. They are personal without being intrusive; disarmingly honest and have your unique, often bemused, slightly twisted point of view.
Blog on!
Cheers!

Congratulations on your Blog of Note recognition...I came by to visit you for the first time and enjoyed browsing here. Your snowman sculpture is adorable... I would like to know more about doing sculpture, especially learning something that's easy to teach, doesn't use many materials, and can fit into class times of 35 minutes. I'll come back and visit again. bea
Congratulations for being a blog of note, you deserve it!
