Here's a different version. I am quite interested in which people prefer, so if you feel so inclined, please vote - I'll make one of them into a t-shirt. In other news, I saw this linked on a post on Andrew Sullivan's blog. It's a good art philosophy in these times.

I vote for the graphic with the red hearts.
I like the read hearts. It's more unexpected than just your basic guts. And I think it fits the spirit of Alice.
i like the guts because that's the only thing i can imagine coming out of the old wench, but i'm feeling the hearts moreso because then it turns away from what comes from the queen, and is more about what Alice creates in slicing her throat--long live the good heart!
I want to vote for the red hearts one, as it illumates the "Red" part of the queen. But a part of me thinks the strict b & w hits harder. I love the caption for that, btw. It reminds me of the words Brian Andreas uses sometimes (do you know his work? he kind of makes me cry in the most beautiful way: http://www.storypeople.com/storypeople/Home.do)
i think i prefer this one.
they are both good, this one is just more symbolic.
I like the red highlight too.
This is very clever! Because the hearts get a special meaning. Some people, especially mothers, are so full of love and care that they become cruel or naggers. And if you reject this care, you "hit them deeply into the heart". To me, this is about the annihilating power of my grandmother.
I love them both.
I think I vote for the red hearts because the red packs such a punch.
The black and white really pulls me though. Hmmmm.....having a hard time choosing.
I prefer this one because of the red contrasting with the black, but the other version with blood would have my preference...
I prefer the red heart version. In Wonderland no detail can escape explicit symbolism.
I like the one with the hearts. The color contrast makes it more interesting. I wonder if I would vote differently if you had colored the blood red in the previous one, and the hearts black!
Hi!! So Kwan Yin is awesome!! I remember seeing another figurine as well that I love on your sanfordillo site. I think it was called Hermes, but now that I see this one, I'm not sure which I like better.
Oh and you know I love the alicia in Wonderland scenes....the red ink really adds a nice punch.
Hope all is well!!
Did I say Alicia in Wonderland? haha, I meant Alice! Why can't you edit comments? silliness.
Wow, this is wonderful feedback - I am going to have to ask for this more often. It's great to have the help of people who enjoy my work. Also interesting to put together what flamwsnall said with what Eva said...I would feel more brillient, but I have to remember the original idea was Carlos'
I like the hearts best-- such a brilliant concept and a totally unexpected result. Either way, very beautiful line work.
I'm sorry to hear that your work has been hijacked. I've had some similar issues with my images popping up in places and it's unsettling.
the red hearts work for me.....
HA! What a cool Alice in Wonderland scene! It's EXACTLY what that old hag deserved. :) Well, I can see I'm outvoted, but I think I prefer the original b/w, though this one with red hearts is incredibly clever. I guess I prefer the real guts and gore. :)
And BOOOO on that bad pirate who stole your blog! He deserves some of this as well.
I like both.great :)
the red hearts finish it perfectly!
p.s. i wish i could retitle my post the zombie jamboree. that was brilliant!
Wild, I like the hearts flying out of her sliced off head....
finally her heart is freed
i vote for this for sure. i like this one much better. the other was almost too plain i felt. this one has something that makes it different.
Yup, I went with this version. Thanks for all your helpful comments...what a great resource to have.
Everything in previous one is fantastic+the red hearts of this piece!
Vote 1 red hearts. It's more surprising without being more shocking, and it's fitting.
