Alice in Wonderland/Bill the Lizard

Once again, liberties have been taken with the text. Bill the lizard is kicked up and out the chimney, while the White Rabbit is grabbed and dropped through the cucumber frame. So this is a combination of the two images.

As of today,  I am in contact with Lewis Carroll biographer Jenny Woolf, proprietor of the From Somewhere in Time Blog , which you may visit for more details about Lewis Carroll and Alice. Jenny tells me that Carroll himself rejected Victorian masochism, however Bill the Lizard as limned by Tennyson is a different story. If you look at the original illustration, to which I have been faithful in feeling, Bill looks pretty contented, or something, about the whole kicking thing.

Of course I love the note-covered house. : - ) Seeing your work makes me want to reread Alice in Wonderland as well as do some research on the author. And it also inspires me to keep working on the novel I've been working on FOREVER, lol. Perhaps when I've added some considerable length to it, I'll send it your way, just for kicks. ; - )

I'm flicking through a copy of Alice in Wonderland published in 1911 which belonged to my Grandmother! Yes, despite being booted through the air, Bill certainly doesn't ook unhappy!

Yvette, that is a very positive interpretation.

Tomas, that's the plan for the series based on Lost. I mean to go into /chinatown, which is very crowded and has a lot of stuff happening at street level.

oh, this is so wonderful! ( as is everything from this Alice in Wonderland series). it makes me want to read it again. i must admit i was never really a fan of the book ( always left me just confused and i thought it was exploited too much by now) but your interpretations inspire me to change my mind and take a second look at the book.
