Tom Waits

One from the files - A visual compilation of some of the themes and characters from various Tom Waits songs. I was just in North Beach yesterday, part of which is very neon-lit and honky-tonkish, possibly it provided the songwriter with inspiration at some point. I do find the line "What was the girl with the snakeskin's name?" to be quite amusing. Guys, I have to say, I have been at a couple of parties where women wearing leopard-print or snake scale leotards were described to me by male friends as "hot". Evidently, a subtle, mysterious quality...

Michael at CoffeeMessiah sent me a link to Waits' I don't wanna grow up. Thank you, Michael.

This is great, Susan. I love his music and this image could be perfect for a compilation CD. Excellent. Super excellent.

Smelling like a brewery, looking like a tramp, ain't got a quarter, got a postage stamp.

Nice picture. We appear to have similar tastes in music. Pogues, Waits....

Hey, I just watched a movie entitled Humboldt County..is that your world? lol.
I also just bought your calendar! Go me!

I thought it was cat skins that were seductive. I had a girl friend who had to beat men off with sticks when she wore a leopard print dress. oh wait. she was super pretty anyway. It's a good question though, about if skins impart a message of sorts.

Great imagery here ..the doughnut, the dog, the luggage..the deadpan expression. Alot of information delivered with panache.

My favourite Tom... Makes me smile to think of him tucked up under a hippy blanket next to a udha lamp. That must e where he got his mean ass bad boy edge from :)

Celeste - North Beach is in San Francisco, but Humboldt county (where the farmers are) is also in the Bay Area.

it´s a pleasure to look over and over the picture listening to any Waits´song, it works perfectly. Women wearing leopard print clothes... uf!... Though someday I´d like to wear some zebra-print. I find zebras are more appealing...

Your, mine, our's Four is showing
again with this Tom
Waits stuff - doncha think?

I was major-big on Tom
around the time, I guess, he was
with Ricki. Remember that?

Ricki Lee Jones has got to be another 4.
And, ya know? Tom's probably an 8 -
which can be tough on a 4.

But, Wait! - heh, heh - I'm confused.
Did you do the picture yourself?
It's great.
