Trying to encourage myself to proceed with gallery-hunting.
Bad attitude: B..b...but I just want to show my work, I don't want to write a $#@&! PHD thesis. Well, everybody else has to do that, what makes you think you're so special?
Are you going to lease space? Good for you if true. My husband wants to do that so much but I don't feel we're ready to take on the monetary burden. Maybe by next Summer. I wish we could. He needs the space and a place of his own in which to create.
Many good wishes to you Susan. Keep us posted. Your work is whimsical, appealing, saleable and that's what matters in retail.
CG= No, right now I'm looking for a replacement Gallery in Marin for the one which closed last year, and I am going to make an effort to locate something in Brooklyn for the altered photographs.
D- I actually like some of the shows at that gallery - but I don't really have a philosophy. The ideal environment would be some loopy aunt's house where you thought you were looking at a normal photo until you looked a little closer---oh wait a minute, I AM a loopy aunt...
But you are so special, Susan! Why grumble you when facing the less "pleasing" part of the work? Proceed, yes, but don´t get angry with yourself -you may even run the risk of going out (secretly)looking for punishment (well, I might be exaggerating, but only a little...)Good luck!
A- you wouldn't be referring to the incident earlier today when I purchased some embroidery thread at a very reasonable price, proceeded to put a coffee flavored candy from a bowl on the counter in my mouth - a kind of candy not meant to be chewed, but rather to rest in the cheek. I separated a crown from the rest of the tooth.
They should be so lucky. All lions should be blue and eat at the best vegetarian restaurants wearing bow ties and spats. If the food is not of regal quality, they should ask to see the chef, then eat him.
Ahhhrghhh! I´m so sorry for that tooth of yours, a king without its crown... hope it won´t hurt you bad. So I don´t exaggerate after all, do I? I admire your sense of humor. You don´t get drowned in a glass of water, so, proceed indeed! and xoxo.
Yeah, seriously, I can't deal with that crap. U think it keeps a lot of good artists away. Good luck Susan - your work should indeed be exhibited, including this excellent work.
I'm really good at treasure hunts. Well, finding anything, really. I send you search neurons down the line, and wish you luck. I love space! I particularly love art in space!

I can't say it any better than Rick,
but I will add,
go blow them down!
u huh..
that gallery is clearly not for you.
try some artist run ones, they seem to be much less uptight.

NICE CANDY= Looking for trouble.
Please, don't sulk, just venture yourself into venting graciously, "paisleyly", "loopyly" ;-)
This lion is so cute I could kiss it.
Eva- That would be a regal kiss for both parties.

Looks like a cross between a lion and a jellyfish, something I wwould find it hard to imagine if I had to (but you've done it for me)
