Two Books from a garage sale (There are no seasons in California)

The second image is from Heath's New System of Writing, more from this exquisite little pamphlet on Tinytheatre.

The season to go inward and take some satisfaction in the hearth fire (whatever that may be for you) in Northern Hemisphere. For myself, I tend towards cooking root vegetables and sewing.

I like the look
of that little black book
A hunting I must go
to find some Edgar Alan Poe

The rain in Spain falls mainly in Ireland, methinks.

I love garage sales and getting treasures. I can always find something to love and re-use.

I love the sound of your hearth's fire ... excellent garage sale finds ... this weekend I came upon a 'hand shadow theatre' book at a nearby sale. Happy autumn, Susan!

I love the look and feel of those old books. Not quite sure why.

They both look superb, but I want to see more of the penmanship book. I think penmanship is going to become the next hip thing for young people to study since they started out with touch screens and it's like learning an ancient skill.

That is a wonderful little book.

This weather means blankets and hot tea and thick books.

And visits to the pumpkin patch, of course. We carved nine jack-o-lanterns (a record!) this weekend.

We have the hearth fire. And deep green envy of the Poe book!
