Robbie had the idea of my making a cushion cover for his mother (my sister) to memorialize their terrier Teddy, who is no longer with them. The reference photo was taken by a family friend, Dick Gilmore.
For the fur, I felted a wool shirt I found on the street. I have plans to turn five sweaters which have been felted (three of them intentionally) into two fashion forward sweaters, possibly over that limbo week between Christmas and New Year's.

Hey! A Good & Thoughtful Present.
A stitched memento, I like that... looking forward to the results of your take 5 make 2 project...
So two sweaters were unintentionaly felted? That's a video I'd like to see.
A sweet thing.
P.S.
Are you aware that Dylan Thomas looked very much like a terrier?

I'm not sure which of the 3 is cuter. It's probably a good thing I don't have a dog like that (anymore), or I'd be drawing her all the time. Actually, when I did have one, I did draw her a lot. Black labs are a whole lot harder to draw. I really like the sketch, and the final thing. Great use of found objects.
... and with a pinch of humor. Would be a bit sentimental without it, but this way it is charming. She will love it!
Can you see anything?
Yes, wonderful things.
ohhhhh this is so dear! I predict tears! You did a wonderful job of memorializing "Teddy"--it is just perfect!
I like this. I'm not exactly sure what "felting" is. sounds kind of risque! :)
TFE & Charles - boys, it's just putting a wool garment through the washer and dryer, which shrinks it and binds the fibers together. Disappointing, I know.
no idea what you're on about, but i love the outcome
Lovely
what a funny dog...
no the eye happening on the wall is the immortal eye of the big brother :P I'm joking....i don t know..a lot of students are expressing their remorses on the walls...
Lot's of personality coming through...what a great idea!
OMG! That is the cutest little embroidery i've ever seen! SO sweet. I'm such a sucker for cute pups....and felting. Sometimes accidents have a happy outcome : )
This is brilliant Susan! I love it. xxJ
