The Window of Community Thrift, in the Mission, where students from California College of Art are doing a series of installations.

I'd identify the artist, but the window only had a list of participants in the series. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Both seen at the Academy of Science in golden Gate Park. I also saw Dragon Seahorses (AKA Leafy Sea Dragons) for the first time, I did not take a photo as they do not like light. I went with Tina, who has a stop motion film of Hans Christian Anderson's The Money Pig here, it is lovely but keep in mind it is Hans Christian Anderson and so quite mordant (his "beloved" status has always seemed dubious to me - it seems to me he was the Roald Dahl of his day).

The Seven Samurai: The Hapless Lovers

Yes, you can kind of tell that "This Will End in Tears". I have substituted San Francisco's Japanese Tea Garden as background for the fields of flowers in the film, which seem to represent Nature at her most sublimely indifferent to human warfare.

Alice in Wonderland/The Duchess

Even the Duchess sneezed occasionally; and as for the baby, it was sneezing and howling alternatively, without a moment's pause.

The above was photographed in the Tenderloin National Forest (see left), which exists in Cohen alley in San Francisco's Tenderloin district, one of the poorer areas of the city. Its designation is real, though the sign is not standard issue. The structure the Duchess is sitting in is one of the a piece by Cameron Hockenson made for an exhibit of Shelters in the alley a couple of years back. A few blocks away in the Civic Center, Patrick Dougherty has installed alterations to an alley of sycamores (see below). Finally, if you must have more sticks before Thursday (when I will have some up on the Tinytheatre blog), here is a link to a youtube video of Nick Caves's Soundsuits.
