Headless

Here's Ichabod Crane. I was just looking at Christopher Walken's turn as the Hessian in the Tim Burton film on youtube...his lines seem to consistent entirely of repeating "Aargh" at intervals, which he does very well indeed.

Oh I love this. I don't know which is more ominous, the headless horseman or the looming scarecrow...
Actually there is a very nice scarecrow in 'Howl's Moving Castle' so I'll go with the horseman :)

Seeing your characters out in the world make me want to move my imagination out more too.
Thanks.
I was just remembering how I used to make paper-dolls with total intensity when I was little. At midlife, I some of that ability is returning (fingers crossed!).

just watched a murder, she wrote episode yesterday in which the guy who played greg brady on the brady bunch was the headless horseman and he was murdered and of course miss angela landsbury figured out who did it. it was rather cheesy but entertaining nonetheless.

hope art is helping you get through things.

Nobody can 'aargh' like Christopher Walken. If they can then I don't want to know.

The Hessian the highlight of an otherwise lacklustre film, I thought.
But you do think of the material just a little bit when you hear the name, don't you?

We have a headless horseman on the hill - Tynron Doon - that overlooks our village. He is out searching for his head, which fell in a well. After the usual run-in with father of girl he loved etc.
Not seen him yet, but we look hopefully whenever we're up there after dark.

I hope he's as good-looking as yours.

Scarecrow much scarier.

Beware Mr. Scarecrow, the headless horseman frequents these parts :)

Christopher Walken is worth watching in anything. I'm sure you've seen this, but it's probably the greatest music video of all time:

From wikipedia - a passage describing Ichabod Crane:

"To see him striding along the profile of a hill on a windy day, with his clothes bagging and fluttering about him one might have mistaken him for the genius of famine descending upon the earth, or some scarecrow eloped from a cornfield."

Still from wikipedia:

"Later, Ichabod is compared to a grasshopper because of his posture on horseback."

The scarecrow is in the picture and the grasshoper is not only some posts down but wonderfully revealed in the drawing of the character on horseback.

Great justaposition of elements!
