We had torrential rains, followed by two or three gusty days that swept everything clean, and now the light here is like honey, or like gems scattered carelessly in the street. Everything is hushed, and time itself seems to have paused to breathe. For many more leaves, see go flying turtle.

You playin' "keepsies" with those marbles?
;-)
that orangey red is the color I love and we have them in abundance during our New England Fall. It's over now, remnants of yellow remain. But it will come back again next year and that is what keeps me here...oh, yes, and my job!
loving that light.
Rick - Just trying to avoid losing them.
what a great big exhaul, wonderful.
Beautiful post, Susan, fresh air after rain, fresh air to breath.
Grey + leaves + light - what else does one need...?!
Neither red nor russet
nor nothing in between
the jeweled marbles
are mirrors of the obscene
spots
the decay
the fallen leaf
a symbol
of the rebirth
of death
what a perfect picture
glowing amberhoney light just lovely

Glorious honey colours.
sweet honey light....beautiful
Beautiful description, Susan. I've seen lots of leaves in the bloggysphere, but none set off by marbles.
