There are a few who ply a needle and thread who stop here occasionally (real needle and thread in photo, though you can't see them very well), so this one's for you. I believe my English readers will also enjoy the reference.

Beautiful image. Today a little neighbor girl said hello to me and I turned around wondering where she was. Then after some time I noticed her high up in an oak tree (though she was not sewing). She must have climbing talents like a monkey.
Jenny - I love these correspondences.
very nice, indeed
Beautiful. You have her posture just right. I could spend hours in a tree like that.
We kept a wonderful old Rackham poster in the boys' bedroom when they were little. It was a drawing of mice beneath a leave-less tree with snarky branches and I think they were gathering nuts altho' the image of a chest of gold overflowing also comes to mind. He is one of the greats, along w/ Tenniel and the guy who drew Mr. Toad.
Rackham was a gem. Great illustrations and imaginative characters. Your girl is wonderful and the placement of the tree in the background looks just right. Must this girl keep sewing until the end of time for some evil dwarf so she might save her family from his spells? Hark, I hear a horse snorting in the forest. There's a tall man on his back! Could he be coming to the girl's rescue?
A fairy tale ambiance... the princess demands a full moon colour dress...
so lovely and the sewing is incredible too, is this your incredible needle work?
I love Arthur Rackham, I remember pouring over his Aesop fable illustrations as a kid
Whenever I get los in sewing, I feel like this.
Beautiful, all of it!
Kate Winslet?
needles to say I absolutely love this!!!
Titus - you are right, it does look like Kate Winslet's firm chin -
Mouse, thanks for the J. Lennon reference.
Yes, but when I enlarged the picture it wasn't her nose! Strong resemblance from a distance, however.
Wonderfully composed!
Rackham is a favourite of mine - and this is one of my favourites of yours recently! So creative!!
:-)
is she sewing shirts out of nettle for 12 swan-brothers maybe?
