Lovely colours and lines. And I'm as pessimistic as Clowncar: that elephant's coming down. Also made me think of "Tubby the Tuba" and the highwire dancing elephants.
Children will be delighted because the elephant is actually a big air balloon. In a moment or two the lady's pointed hat will do the trick. Oh, yes, that is going to be be a blast!
This is what some professor would call a "conceptual piece." lol. I can just imagine sitting in a classroom where the professor is asking us how to relate this picture to present-day America in which there are countless role reversals.

I love this picture Susan. I like the idea of the elephant being lighter than the dancer :)
Hmm... That looks kinda political to me!
Rick- that's funny - It's just n interesting juxtaposition, no politics intended, it would need to be a fairly complicated metaphor, I think?
oh, lighter than air!
I had seen the elephant as falling.
clearly, Jasmine has a brighter view of the world than I.
Wow, this had to take some time. Really love the lines and the composition here. It would also work well for the current Illo Friday theme, "ripple".
Steve-
re Illo friday, I'll get on it. Thanks for the heads up!
Ouch... that's going to leave a mark! Wonderful composition and colors.

Rehearsal.
Cláudia- I think if the elephant is a balloon, you have an exact balance between pessimism and optimism.
Balance? That's not my name at all ;-)
c- It's like the pushme-pullyou of Dr. Doolittle, evidently.
Had to google that.
Stuck in the middle - now, that's me!
Nice color. :-)
