The Map is not the Territory

Pirate with no depth perception who has lost his reading glasses attempts to figure out where he buried the treasure. He is standing in front of a lovely piece of mail art sent to me by the redoubtable J.T. Steiny of Dog a Day.

Glasses wouldn't help him very much. The thing is - seamen know every corner of the sea but don't have a clue about firm land! Look how puzzled he looks about the map. Reminds me of one of the seamen in Moby Dick - the one who couldn't stay inland for more than a month without going nuts!

Cláudia - I think we all have divided natures.

Maybe.
But then again, I can see clearly that the pirate is kinda lost in this pinkish desert. To me he looks so out of his place!
Anyway, I wish him all the best luck!

I have just come from Steiny various places in the internet. I simply loved his style!

I feel like I might be standing next to treasure too! Can't see it--but it is probably close.
It's fun to think about something like that--thanks for "sprarking" it!

Thanks Celeste - Yes, that was in my mind too.

Ooooh, mail art...
I've been feeling beleaguered with high-techitudidityness, appreciating glue and cardboard and the like. I love how you bring it all together in your blog. Thanks.

I like so much "reincarnation", but this image of the pirate, with this partial red background is irresistible!
