That melody haunts me still...

This is one I like from Snow Cake. What is yours?

NoooooooooooooohH! You can't burn music.

Unless maybe it was the Spice Girls, or Stock Aitkin and Waterman, anything in the film Orphan Annie, or on the X factor.

I could really get with you burning the Cheeky girls, Chipmonks, Mr Blobby, and........

What exactly did your pyromaniac fingers scorch?

Jasmine - it has a light-up toy inside. Not to worry!

Lovely pic Sparkey.I like the way the lit music mirrors the lit windows of the house. Is there any thing more comforting, magical or welcoming than little windows of light and warmth at night?

What's mine? I'm not sure at the moment. But I'm intrigued. What's the music on the piece of paper? From the bit I can make out, I don't recognise it.

It's difficult to explain why I like this, but I do. Maybe I see something about burning artistic expression in it. Very sad.

Lately it's been "And the wind was a wild wind..." Frequently it's the Waifs, "Lighthouse." It changes a lot. :)

ah the glowing music orb--it is lovely and in nice contrast to the light in the background. The music that haunts me is Facades, by Phillip Glass:

I always know there will be lots of treats when I come back to your blog after too long away! Where to start... too much! Mr Cthulhu is an absolute delight in every respect! You are right about cross hatching. It's something I cannot seem to pull off without deadening my pictures but your handling of it is just wonderful. Even the simple pie filling buzzes! As I've said before Ed Gorey would approve I feel. Hope you have a happy holidays!

TFE,

"Is there any thing more comforting, magical or welcoming than little windows of light and warmth at night?"

No, there is not. Despite living in a tropical, HOT, and sunny city, I could understand this notion since I was quite young. When I was seven I preferred to be in the school library while other children were having fun and snacks during our free time between classes (by the way, this is how we begin to be seen as weirdos). Once I picked "The Little Match Girl" out from the shelf... God, I cried my eyes out and felt as cold and lonely as that poor girl. It was almost an herculean task to put myself together and go back to classroom where my fellow kids were sweating like hell after all the running stuff that goes during the breaks.

Susan, this is a free-associative visual blog, isn't it? But to make it more round, I should add that this episode with that particular book still haunts me...

Dominic - it is just practice music.

Mariana, I once picked up some ice cream off the ground that had fallen out of the cone and ate it...after wiping the ground-side part off, of course...

Cláudia - what a beautiful story, worlds within worlds.

It looks like the world soon.

I have been at the Copehangen summit. Of course it failed. What will become of our world.

Yes , it does feel like a punch in the stomach, and worse if you were there as far as increasing the feeling of helplessness and frustration.
