Parking Lot Absolute

Yup, decided I wanted to do more with the pavement level thing. Whoever oversees this parking lot at a local bank rivals Kim Il Jong in the aggressive defense of his particular territory. Locals are advised that any attempt to park there after bank hours will result in immediate towing by the cosily-named "Family Towing Co.", behind the figure to the right you can see one of those lower-jaw contraptions for ripping tires apart. It's a private parking lot and the meters resemble Darth Vader. I don't think this is what Native Americans are talking about with the whole being-one-with-the -land thing.

For some tinier people in urban settings, see Little People-A tiny street art project

Native Americans used to think that property of ground is immoral, didn't they?

The Idea that you can "own a bit of land" is-if you think about it- absurd.Although (*whisper it*) dont tell The Banks........

These are really great, Susan. Sort of live collage. The reverse version would be those old special cinematic effects where the people were real but the painted scenery rolled by.

You are just brilliant, young lady! Love this to pieces! The image and the sentiment.

i adore this pavement-level idea! sometimes i get down to the floor to talk to my daughters, who are still small, and it makes me realize what a monster i must look like towering over them so high up above, all 5'4" of me.

What a great photo, angle and subject! It's perfect in every respect.

This whole subject of billing people or damaging their property for daring to encroach onto your territory is a delicate one. It has always seemed profoundly ridiculous to me.

I sometimes see one local woman following people down the street screaming "I'll call a tow truck if you don't move your car right now!" It was a bank employee that had somehow made it her job to spot people parking in the large bank lot-- she has a view of the lot from her desk. She embarrasses other employees, as well as the guy who is paid to "casually" watch the lot for cars that have been there for more than an hour in addition to his other duties. This she-devil has taken over his job for ??? the sheer fun of it? I could see she gets a thrill running out to the lot to "enforce" One bank employee says she only does it when things are bad at home.

I do like ground level-ish photos, the rabbit's eye view of life.

I'm glad you all like this, I am excited about the possibilities.

Squirrel, great story and good point - how does one maintain a feeling of control under stressful circumstances? Yelling is one solution.
