The online dictionary refers to hypnagogue as an agent that induces sleep - but I have pictured it as a sort of mythago. In sleep-related imagery, I was struck by this picture Rick at Kyklops took of his beautiful daughter - she is almost always in motion, but in this case she seems to be climbing through levels of perception.

This is great! Every line is perfect. I like a lot your photos with paper figures, but I think images like this are my favorites.
The hypnagogue is beautiful - I imagine the pictures as moving with his breathing/
Lovely images of Rick's daughter.
best to you.
have not visited your blog for a while, wow, so many new stuff here. love all your recent posts. Awesome!!
It wolf-naps, it seems... been reading about this the other day: they take naps from 5 to 10 min.´s duration, then take a quick look about, then turn once or twice before dozing of again...
Sleep is so elusive, the Hypnagogue is beautiful, but I'm still wating for the hip old Pogue :)
Beautifully decorated cat. Reminds me of Maori art where they paint the animals they have drawn. Love the open third eye seeing the dream state.
i have enjoyed your "mistic" posts .
this one is a image that opens very well the imaginarie of the viewer and expose unknow sides of you !
well done Lady .
Beautiful, and yet a little unsettling for me. It's watching me while it sleeps, like a creature you come upon during a quest.
TFE: please stop it.
love the third eye.
Excellent drawing in true Susan style. I especially like the head with the many horns/ears, the stars and the third eye.
Although it looks benign enough, I wouldn't recommend waking it unduly.
This is wonderful. Eyes shut, but the eye on the forehead always watchful. The person holding the bird - or the bird approaching. A whole story on this "beast."
Titus- you may want to avert your eyes from the second post tomorrow.
Oooohhh!
wow
Dreams must be of a wonderful kind if sleep is induced by such enigmatic & beautiful creature... The drawing is great. I´d stay watching it for hours, it seems to hold a mystery and keeps his third eye on it.
i love this picture
I'm in need of a hypnogogue at the moment :-(
haha, and my word verification is "drunk". I guess I could try that instead?
Wonderful drawing. Can't say more.
Beautifully captured levels of perception, Susan!
Susan, you're unstoppable! This is such a fab drawing!!
Oh this is magical...
Love this!
Wow!!! Very cool drawing...
That's a lovely illustration!
I love this image - it is perfect. I'd like it on a little poster.
