why have I never thought of this? I've never seen an illustration like this. It's wonderful
I love Moomin Valley and this is beautiful.
We have a lot of little green anole lizards around. Right now is when the little babies hatch, so small they could curl up and nap on a quarter.
I wish, just once, they could sprout wings and fly…
what a wonderful illustration!!! he/she does look like a denizen of moomin valley!

Woooooooooooooooow!
So brilliant!!!!I love to see it as a post card!Lovely idea, color and composition!
This is a beautiful illustration. One of those enchanted ones that you do, that have a marvelous untold story attached to them.
ha this is great!
For some reason, it reminds me of the illustrations in the trilogy MY FATHER'S DRAGON, which my son has loved the last few years.
You can see one cover here:

I'm glad this prompted memories of Moomins for feltbug & mouse -
Thomas, that's a lovely thought.
Jocelyn, the cover is charming, that beast does not look aerodynamically sound to me though. You should check out the Moomin books.
How very pretty. The Moomins were fantastic - did you ever get the Clangers in the States? They were knitted!
Adam - my English relatives have told me about the clangers.
Doesn't the word "knitted" sound like something that should have been converted to slang by now? Possibly it has been..."Get knitted" just sounds like a British insult.
Wow. I really really love this!
Oh, I absolutely LOVE this! This is one awesome dragony dragonfly.
Beautiful. Love this so much.
