This couch appeared on the sidewalk in front of my apartment. The figure is made of rice paper, however since I couldn't get it to disobey the laws of physics for purposes of being photographed, photoshop was involved in its placement.A link to the original (not Manet)

Ha! Olympe de Manet goes Oakland. (But where's the helpful one bringing the flowers? or is she replaced by the vase in the front?)
Nice.
A public art installation well documented. Very nice. :)
That pesky rice paper...
Interesting! Le Reve - La Reve? Whatever, this is definitely more Olympe than Marie-Therese!
You're such a prolific poster that it's taken me days to catch up with everything (just back from trip)!! Lots of interesting pieces, though have to admit sad lack of knowledge of the 'Lost' series - having not seen it yet!
C.
Good one. She looks very comfortable. The kitty looks like my Shadow! Is he yours?
quite a nice couch and obviously quite comfortable. alice has shed her clothes for the summer?
twas the black kitty did me in. Beautiful job, Susan.
Fabulous! The kind of things that appeared lost in the street...:) and the use we can give them... ;)
Kitty looks thrilled
She/he's going to be very disappointed
when that sofa goes away
I love the idea of that life-size nude!
Someone just left that couch on the sidewalk? How funny.
You put it to such good use; too bad it's not a permanent piece.
you're getting cleverer by the minute
you always make me smile. what DO your neighbours think?
I'm not quite sure what you've photoshopped here but you've done it very well. What a funny and excellent idea, and how nice of the cat to help out.
Adam - One take only, that's all I'm allowed.
naughty bit of rice paper! Is it life size or did you photoshop that also?
I have always wondered what to do with old couches on the street... you have given me an idea...
Tom - the figure is that size, but since I couldn't get it to sit up, even with a wire, I had to photograph it separately and insert it.
it got perfect !
i loved the colors , i don`t know if you chose or if was just a coincidence .
i felt like to frame it . for some reason , it remembers me .... oh damed , me and the names that i always forget . but you going to know . the french that picasso had a huge jealousy , envy , that developed his works on colors and stylized forms .hes very famous , i believe the most famous french of the 20th centure ..................forget about .
some times when i write to you i feel like i am one of those charaters of reno911 , or `the office ( yes , this i remember ) .
Caio- Link to the Henri Rousseau painting under the photo. It was precisely because of the color of the couch that I felt I needed to do something with it.
oh Rosseau was too far fron my mind .it was cool to see your reference .
ok !!! don`t make fun of me . you `re going to laugh .
i was able to forget the name of Matisse .
yes , let start fron the begin :
your last post made me remember Matisse .
see you .
Thanks for the link.
I like little projects like this.
May be enough to get my brain going again.
Cheers 2 U!
How did you get that cat to pose just like those lions in Rousseau? Was it a happy coincidence?
Oh! btw, checkout this outdoor-comic-strip cuteness if you haven't seen it already - www.mymilktoof.blogspot.com
Very Funny and Full of Imagination..
Bravo Susan.
No words for that. Just great!
Hey Susan, just got your wonderful Alice! I'll make sure to post it up nest week. Thanks so much!
sweet!! one of these days I will get photoshop - it looks like great fun!
I just returned home from an outing with alice - photos taken! no photoshop involved, although it would have been easier as it was windy outside so limited my options. but alice had fun shopping at the west side market and then asked to go out for a drink afterwards...one must be careful though with what she drinks!
hope you are having a good holiday weekend! xxx
I didn't like le RĂªve. Your...Dream is fabulous...Congratulations from the 9 to the black beauty too... Without him it will not be so perfect!
You just found a sofa like that in the street? I think that's fantastic! And the cat looks very happy to cooperate with you!
