On the grounds of Petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette and her ladies liked to dress as sheperdesses and play at country life in an artificial village constructed for that purpose. This was photographed in Arjan, a flower store on Piedmont Avenue with a Provençal feel. Stop in if you are in the neighborhood (it's across from Fenton's) and say hello to friendly proprietress Mina.

Great hair and crook.
Your Marie-Antoinette looks absolutely ready to give the little lambs their shampoo; she will bathe each one individually in one of the miniatures of the potteries made in Uzès.
She will then spritz them with rosewater before having a light 'déjeuner champêtre' and repairing to the Chateau for a well-needed rest.
just lovely and perfect. the drawing is really something .
wonderful! that seems like a perfect place for Marie Antoinette!
I´d like to have such a colloquy with flowers bigger than myself...
Had to zoom in on the crook. I thought the ribbon was a real one! Great detail and reference :)
Wonderful... wish I could drop in:)
I have posted my illustration challenge images and have had a lot of fun doing so.
Thank you.

oh, I adore her outfit.
quite charming.
Very nice and wonder if anyone ever wears their hair that high anymore?
Is that Fentons, as in ice cream?
It's been a long time since I've heard that name and am trying to mentally lay the street out again ; )
I'm kind of like that with my chickens, but I don't dress up to feed them.
