Oh, I loved that film. There used to be such a tradition of showing very old horror movies very late on Saturday nights when I was a child, which has disappeared now we are multi-channelled. It's just not the same.
Also got to see The Leopard Man and Bedlam that way.
You can keep CGI. These effects are the real deal!

beautiful work. val knew what he was doing... such a truly tingly movie where so much of the spookiness is dervived from expert shots of shadows and darkness...
